Appreciate it mate but I’m in the cotswolds. I should hopefully be able to pick up some Baitworks monster red from their factory on the cotswold water park as its close to next weeks venue

First river session of the season. Too much overnight rain didn't help. 3 chublets, lost a better fish.

Switched to bread today and pulled in 6 monster (tiny) roach in 2 hrs - the boy is suitably impressed to want to go again.

where are you based. Sure someone can recommend a half decent spot where a fish or two is guaranteed.

Welcome pal.
Sign up and they send you discount codes almost weekly.
I pay £1 per kilo of prepared hemp and maize delivered. Dont think i could do it that cheap myself.

Location is key, so if you want a 'bites' water have a quick google search for a commercial fishery near to home
There will be plenty - then check out if they have a mixed fishery, they mostly do, then read up on it and it will likely describe the fish, method and baits used to catch

There are plenty of waters like this with a cafe, safe car park, tackle shop and helpful staff available to advise the capture of small carp which will resist and hook your lad for life

Let us know how you get on, and if you have any bother identifying a venue, pm me a rough home location and I'll find a place for you

Re: The fishing thread
I have t been fishing for 20yrs but took my boy yesterday over our local lake.

Float fishing sweet corn and got a couple of bites in 3 hrs - I need some advice to get my mojo back before he gets bored.

bruuuno 12:58 Thu Jun 18
Re: The fishing thread
Anyone know any cheap particle supplier thy delivers?

Re: The fishing thread
I've been asked to show my licence a few times.

A decent club bailiff should ask to see it as well as your membership card in my opinion.

Where’s good to take my boy, he’s 8 so want to be catching fish, don’t matter what size. Took him to a little lake round clayhall way about 2 years ago and he loved it. Want to try somewhere else though.
Cheers

Re: The fishing thread
I've been asked twice for a rod licence in about 25 years

mallard 8:43 Tue Jun 16
Re: The fishing thread
I’ve never been asked but I always buy one to avoid the stiff penalties and confiscation of gear if caught.

£30 a year is a modest contribution to the upkeep of waters

Re: The fishing thread
Quick question gents..Any of you buy a rod License?

I renew mine every year but never been asked no one I know
Has....

Is the Water Bayliff still around?

Re: The fishing thread
Mallard - I have two standard umbrellas and they both fit into the leg. Also the seat back is upright which is why i bought it when I looked at it. Decathlon do have some great gear at very reasonable prices.

mallard 5:44 Fri Jun 12
Re: The fishing thread
That’s probably more like what I need, it’s more upright and higher from the ground - I’ve spent too much time slouching in a low chair which hasn’t helped.

Is the fitting for the umbrella universal?
